The South African Institute of Foundrymens’ Annual Golf Day took place on Thursday 10th November 2022. The event was held at the Reading Country Club. The following companies are thanked for sponsorship of prizes, tee boxes and greens: ASK Chemicals, Cabocraft, Cronimet, DZanetech, Foseco, Grinding Techniques, Groves Foundry, Insimbi Alloy Supplies, Lauds Foundry Projects, Mustang Foundry, Pferd SA, Pentagon Resources, Scientific & Precision Solutions and Thos Begbie.

The event was well supported with 100 players taking part, 8 sponsors of watering holes and tee boxes and there were also eight special prizes sponsored.

Competition results
Securing their usual first place position and collecting the Luis Dias Honorary trophy were a fourball from Petagon Resources. Players included Lieb Prinsloo, Shaun Naidoo, Raymond Adams and Gershin Noble.

In second place were Anton Roos, Buks Holton, Andre Lambrecht and Francois De Klerk and in third place were Jonathan Mkansi, John van Der Merwe, Bertus Vos and Gerhard Vos. Backing up the field in last place were Joaquim Bernades, Shane Bernades, Craig du Plooy and Jon Aloy – next year they will have the chance of getting a hat-trick for this position. All these prizes were sponsored by the SAIF.

The closest to the pin prizes for the short holes and on the holes for a second shot were sponsored by DZanetech, Insimbi Alloy Supplies, ASK Chemicals, Grinding Techniques and Thos Begbie. The longest drive prizes on holes were sponsored by Pferd SA and Pentagon Resources.
