The Rapid Product Development Association of South Africa (RAPDASA) will hold its 18th Annual International Conference in the first week of November 2017. This year the conference will be held in Durban, KwaZulu Natal. No further details were available at the time of going to press.
This event will bring together the leading innovators / entrepreneurs in Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) in South Africa, allowing them to share their ideas on innovation and product development using additive manufacturing.
With respect to the conference theme, papers can be submitted under any of the following topics:

• New AM applications
• Impact of AM on the intellectual property environment
• Design for Additive Manufacturing
• Reverse engineering
• Simulation and modelling
• Process monitoring and control
• Material evaluation and selection
• Post processing and qualification

Extended abstract submissions will open soon so keep a look out for the ‘Call for Abstracts’. All full papers are double blind reviewed and selected papers will be published in a special edition of the South African Journal of Industrial Engineering (SAJIE).
